Grad Wellness Week

In partnership with the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being, we present: Grad Wellness Week.

The mission of the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being is "to cultivate a healthy campus environment where students thrive through the integration of mind, body, and spirit consistent with the Holy Cross charism of the University of Notre Dame," and their vision is "to empower students for success in achieving balance anchored in the pursuit of lifelong well-being." Please explore their website or visit McWell on the second floor of St.Liam's Hall to learn about all of the resources for wellness available to Notre Dame students.

The Office of Graduate Student Life is offering a Twitter contest in order to celebrate #gradwellness!

Look out for our Tweets and Facebook posts to find out what is happening all week long. Don't forget to connect with us on Twitter and Facebook!

Send @NDGradLife a tweet or photo of how you pursue your well-being balance for a chance to win a personal training package from RecSports. Each tweet equals one entry into the drawing. (Five tweets means five entries.) You can also email us at

Co-sponsored by the University Counseling Center

To celebrate emotional wellness, here are two events:

"Let’s Talk is brief consultation that is available to all current students at Notre Dame. It is confidential and completely free. Just walk-in during the times listed because no appointments are necessary! Let’s Talk is a place where you can talk about concerns and receive expert suggestions about solutions and resources or just have someone who listens well and can offer support. No topic is off limits."

"Join Dr. Jessica Payne, renowned sleep expert, and Matt Berg, 2012 Notre Dame graduate, as they discuss the importance of getting a good night's sleep. As the creators for the new and exciting sleep program being run out of the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being, the first 200 students will be provided their very own sleep program for FREE. Each program includes a Somni sleep box, online educational resources from Dr. Payne, as well as daily sleep tips from the Somni team." Space is limited, so please RSVP.

THURSDAY- Occupational
Co-sponsored by Graduate Career Services

"The Winter Career and Internship Fair is held annually toward the beginning of the spring semester. This fair offers a wide variety of opportunities and industries for students to explore. Undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and majors are encouraged to attend."

FRIDAY- Intellectual
Co-sponsored by Graduate Professional Development

"Are you tired of South Bend and its weather, but thought you would be stuck here for your whole PhD career? Not necessarily! Are you interested in more money, more career flexibility, and more prestige added to your professional brand? Come and have pizza and soft drinks (and alternatives for those with dietary needs), meet some of your colleagues from other departments, and learn something useful!

This workshop will cover funding opportunities for graduate students, with a focus on looking ahead to fall deadlines. Topics include study abroad, international research, dissertation fellowships, and multi-year fellowships. There will be a particular focus on opportunities you might not have thought about applying for, as well as how to best use your summer to prepare for the fall application cycle." Please register for this event.

SATURDAY- Environmental
Co-sponsored by the Office of Sustainability

Located in downtown South Bend, the South Bend Farmer's Market hosts a variety of vendors and booths as well as a restaurant. This Saturday, they will also be hosting a Health Fair!

SUNDAY- Spiritual
