Grad Student Appreciation Week: October 4-10 

Our graduate students are valued members of the Notre Dame community every day of the year, but we can't help but celebrate you in a special way this week! Come enjoy freebies, food, fun, and fellowship with other grad students as the whole Notre Dame family honors YOU!

The week will feature plenty of unique events just for Appreciation Week and will highlight campus events and resources available to grad students all year through.

Table Tent Prizes
Origami Fortune Teller Table Tents will be placed in several locations on campus. One in every ten has a GREEN star inside, indicating a prize winner. If you find one, bring it to the Grad Life Office in 206A Duncan Student Center to get $5 of Domer Dollars added to your ID card and be entered for a chance to win additional prizes.

T4: Tuesday, Tools, Tips, and Time 
9:00a-12:00p |125 Hesburgh Library| Do you need some face-to-face accountability to keep committed to your research and writing? This workshop time is available for graduate students working on their theses or dissertations. Join us at 9am for goal-setting and help with a new tool or tip that may be game-changing in your productivity or focus. We’ll work together to set goals and reconvene at 11:45am to talk about our successes, challenges, and thoughts about what we might change the next time we write.

Tours of Fr. Ted's Office
2:00-4:00p | Hesburgh Library, 13th Floor | Tour the office in the library of the man it is named after - Fr. Ted Hesburgh! Come see the world through Fr. Ted’s eyes, and catch a glimpse of the best view of the Dome anywhere on campus! Where else can you see an Olympic Torch and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in the same room? All graduate & professional students, postdocs, and their families are welcome!  

McWell Open House
4:00-6:30p | 204 St. Liam Hall | As part of Graduate Student Appreciation Week, McWell will be hosting a special open house for graduate and professional students on Tuesday, October 4 from 4:00-6:30pm. Stop by McWell to take a tour of our restorative spaces, eat fresh berries, pick up a sleep kit, play some games, and enter a raffle to win a McWell prize pack and hammock. McWell is located on the second floor of Saint Liam Hall. We are excited to show you around and introduce you to opportunities to stay well!

Grad Night at ND Soccer
7:00p | Alumni Stadium | Come watch Notre Dame's men's soccer team play Purdue Fort Wayne at Alumni Stadium. Entrance is free and open to the public. Succulent Giveaway & TimelyCare Drive 
12:00-1:30p | Grad Lounge, 206 Duncan Student Center | Come and pick up a free succulent plant to brighten your home or office. Meet members of Notre Dame's Health & Wellness Unit, and get info on the TimelyCare app for free 24/7 telehealth services. All graduate & professional students, postdocs, and their families are welcome!  

Grad Picnic & Faith Fair 
5:00-6:30p | Bond Quad | Join GSG, Grad Life, Campus Ministry, and the FRC for free food, music, games, and information tables from local faith communities so you can find just the right place to nurture your spiritual growth at ND. NOTE: We will be serving hot dogs (beef & veggie), chips, cookies, and hawaiian shave ice. If you have a dietary need not addressed by that menu, please email with your specific requirements and we will make every attempt to accommodate you. All graduate & professional students, postdocs, and their families are welcome!  

Log Chapel Tours

UCC Workshop: Self-Compassion
4:00p | St. Liam 3rd Floor Conference Room | Join Dr. Peter Barnes to learn about the life-changing benefits of self-compassion and how to cultivate it. All graduate & professional students welcome!  

Addressing Diversity Statements 
4:00p | Online | This interactive virtual workshop will equip participants to address issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their fellowship applications. You will build skills to effectively discuss your background, experiences, and commitment to DEI work via common fellowship components: diversity statements, personal statements, and short essays. Whether you are applying to a diversity-focused fellowship (ex. Ford, AAUW) or simply want to better understand how to put your commitment to these values into words, this workshop is for you. *Zoom information will be provided closer to the workshop date.
